Pocket Monster Quick Tips - Navigation - How to get pokemon

If you loved Pokemon back from the old days on Nintendo Gameboy Advance, you will be sure to love Pocket Master which is a 3D MMORPG version of the game that you can play with your friends.

It is a F2P (Free to play) game with options to purchase extras in the game.

Below is a navigation guide just in case you forget what each of the buttons are for.
Don't worry if you don't see some buttons on your screen, as some of these buttons are only unlocked once you get to a certain level!

I will update this guide as I go along.
I'm still new to the game, but found there isn't a lot of information on how to play the game, so here goes.
Hopefully it will be useful for the newbies :)
Any questions? Just post them in the comments below - and hopefully someone can answer them.

How to get Pokemon?

Now this differs from the Nintendo Gameboy - you can't just throw a pokeball at any random pokemon you meet (ahem battle) off the street and call it a day.

So here are the ways you can get some new pokemon in this game:

  1. When you start the game - you get a choice of bulbasaur (grass) , charmander (fire) , or squirtle (water). Well that's your first pokemon sorted! Hurray!
  2. Shop gatcha (bottom RHS) - basically spin the wheel and get a random pokemon!
There are 4 different types. The first one requires gem. For the other three you can either be patient and wait for the timer to run down to get a free shot or.. if you don't want to wait, better get ready that mullah (gems).

This is a bit of a hit and a miss. If you are lucky you may be able to get a decent pokemon, but if not, it is good for getting pokemon for using to level up main pokemon.
  3. Capture Ground (RHS) ->>>>> Also hit and miss, but the pokemon here is generally more decent than the shop gacha pokemon. Battle the random pokemon from the wild. Once you have defeated it, you can try to capture it.

The more pokeballs you throw, the more the wild pokemon will be fatigued. The more fatigued the pokemon is the higher chance you have of catching it.

Be aware that you will need to stock up on pokeballs to catch them (click on bag to check how many pokeballs you have)
4 star pokemon need 22 pokeballs
5 star pokemon need 66 pokeballs

Highly recommend you have above the amounts above as sometimes the pokemon is pretty stubborn and won't let you capture it until it is very very fatigued!
  4. Explore (RHS) - >>>>
Sometimes you may get some free pokemon - recommend you to save these pokemon for leveling up your main pokemon
  5. In main mission battles (bottom middle giant pokeball)
After completing a battle you may sometimes get pokemon. Likewise with 'Explore' highly recommend you to save the pokemon for leveling up your main pokemon
